Chapter 14 Nicholas, You Are Too Biased
He blinked his sore eyes and followed Nancy.
The ward was very quiet. It was a top-notch luxury suite where everything was the best.
Nicholas sat beside Madelline, holding her hands tightly, gazing at her with deep affection.
“Nicholas, there’s something I ….
Halfway through Nancy’s words, he coldly interrupted her, “Lower your voice and wait for me
outside.”
She waited for over ten minutes.
The corridor outside was quite chilly. Nancy’s hands turned icy and reddened after just a short while of standing there.
When Nicholas came out, she was vigorously rubbing her hands.
“Now you can speak.” He frowned and looked at Nancy with a cold and distant gaze.
Nancy quickly rattled off the license plate numbers and described the guy’s looks. Then she said, “Here’s the dude’s license plate and all his information. He was drunk and ran off. You should report him!”
After that, she walked away.
She didn’t dare to witness him showing deep affection to another woman.
Knowing it is enough for her.
Why make her see it with her own eyes?
It’s incredibly cruel.
Then, as she had just taken a couple of steps, Nicholas’ voice came from behind, “Is there nothing- else you want to say to Madelline besides this?”
Nancy stopped suddenly. She knew what Nicholas wanted to hear.
However, she wouldn’t say it.
She was not wrong in this matter.
Just because Madelline had an accident and got injured, did she have to admit fault and
apologizet

Right and wrong aren’t defined that way.
After turning around, her clear gaze met Nicholas, and she calmly asked, “So, what do you think I should say?”
After saying that, she chuckled self-deprecatingly, “Should I apologize to her, say I was wrong, or kneel and beg for her forgiveness?”
“Shouldn’t you?” Nicholas countered.
With tears in her eyes, Nancy looked at him with a cynical smile and replied, “Nicholas, humans. can be biased, but not to this extent.”
“We haven’t even divorced yet, and I’m still your legal wife. Regardless of the situation, whenever there’s a conflict between me and her, she’s always right one, and I’m always on the wrong side for you?”.
“What if it had been me instead of her in the car accident today?”
“Nicholas, would you make her apologize to me?”
Nancy received his silence as a response.
Well, she shouldn’t have asked in the first place.
Why did she even bother to fantasize when she already knew the answer?
“Nancy, there’s no ‘what if. It’s Madelline who had the accident, and she’s the one injured. All you’re being asked for is an apology. Is that too much?”
Huh! Too much?
“Is it?”
She let out a bitter laugh, didn’t bother to respond to him, and walked away without turning back.
Back at home, Nancy instructed the chefs to prepare various delicious dishes.
Isn’t turning sorrow and anger into an appetite an excellent way to cope? Good food is the best medicine.
However, as soon as she smelled the food, she felt nauseous. In the end, she locked herself in the bathroom, leaning over the sink to vomit.
When she got out, she had no energy left in her body.
She instructed them to remove greasy and strongly flavored dishes from the table.

In the end, she only had a little porridge and a bit of pickled radish.
After finishing her meal, Nancy took a shower and went to bed.
She was extremely exhausted and fell asleep as soon as her head touched the pillow.
The consequence of going to bed earlier was that she woke up at 3 in the morning.
It was pitch black outside the window. The night seemed like a blob of ink, and nothing could be
seen.
”
She reached out and instinctively touched the spot beside her.
The blanket on the right side was ice-cold.
Her heart was ice-cold as well.
He didn’t come back.
Of course, Madelline was injured, so he must care for her at the hospital. How could he have come back?
‘Oh, Nancy, even though you knew, you were still hoping, weren’t you?”
Wearing only a thin shawl, she stood by the window.
Suddenly, lightning flashed, and thunder rumbled, echoing as it struck down.
Heavy rain started pouring down shortly after, and large raindrops relentlessly battered against the windows.
Nancy immediately returned to bed, clutching the blanket tightly and feeling slightly frightened.
Since childhood, she has always been most afraid of heavy rain, especially during thunderstorms.
Because her mother was a nurse who often had night shifts, she frequently had to sleep alone when she was young.
Her father, who had a volatile temper and was a gambler, was frequently absent. He was either gone for months, returning home to ask her mother for money, or inebriated and sleeping on the floor.
So, later on, her mother would lock Nancy in the house to sleep whenever she had a night shift.
She was petrified whenever there was lightning and thunder.
She would always turn on all the lights and bury herself under the blanket.

Despite all these growing years, she still intensely feared thunder and lightning.
The thunder sounded louder and louder.
The lightning flashed like a bright, shimmering sword as if it would split the entire sky.
Nancy was extremely frightened.
She hugged her arms and cautiously turned on all the lights in the room.
When she saw the bright lights, she finally felt a bit relieved.
Back in bed, she immediately wrapped herself tightly in the blanket.
This was the scene Nicholas encountered once he entered the room. All the lights were on, and she was curled up in the blanket like a little kitten, tucking in all the corners tightly.
He reached out and pulled the blanket gently.
Nancy thought it was her imagination, so she quickly pulled the blanket and moved toward the middle of the bed.
However, it seemed like someone was still pulling the blanket.
Has someone entered her room?
Nancy became more and more afraid as she thought about it. She clutched the blanket and covered herself completely.
At the same time, her fearful voice emerged softly from under the blanket, “Let me tell you, I have neither money nor looks. If you came here for that, you’ll probably be disappointed.”
Nicholas suddenly became interested and changed his tone, “Do you think I’ll believe that have no money when you live in such a big mansion?”
you
I’m not lying. I have no money. I’m about to get a divorce, and I’ll have nothing. I don’t even have a penny, so please leave. As long as you don’t harm me, I’ll pretend like nothing happened.”
“Well, that won’t do. If I kidnap a wealthy lady like you, I’ll have everything I want, and husband will give me the money willingly.”
As Nicholas spoke, he reached to pull Nancy’s blanket.
your
But Nancy held onto the blanket too tightly, and it took him a lot of effort to finally pull it away.
Nancy sat on the bed with her eyes closed, trembling all over.
She was terrified, and her voice was almost on the verge of tears as she pleaded, “I … I beg you,

please don’t hurt me. I’ll give you anything you want..
Before Nancy could finish speaking, Nicholas forcefully pulled her into his arms.
