Chapter 28 Agreed to Divorce

When Nicholas opened the door, suddenly, there was a sound of banging on the door. Lynn. screamed because he hit the door.

Seeing Nicholas’ anger, he thought he was late delivering the antidote and quickly explained, “Mr. Sallow, it’s not my fault. Madam has such a sharp eye. You don’t know that I was searched all over by a group of men down there three times. I would have almost been stripped if I hadn’t resisted.”

“If I hadn’t been smart enough to hide the antidote in my belt, I wouldn’t have been able to bring it in.”

“Mr. Sallow, eat this quickly. I’ll get you some water.

Nicholas stared at Lynn with a cold gaze. His body was freezed, “I already have the antidote. No need to eat that anymore.”

“Oh, have you solved it?”

Lynn was confused. Then he looked at Nancy and understood instantly.

Nicholas scolded Lynn, “Take the antidote and get out.”

Lynn quickly followed Nicholas and asked, “Mr. Sallow, what will we do now?”

“Find the person who gives me the antidote,” Nicholas said.

Huh?

Lynn was confused now. Didn’t he say that Mrs. Sallow has removed the effects of the aphrodisiac on him?

So what is going on now?

Knowing Nicholas was about to leave, Nancy couldn’t hold it back and said, “Are you going?”

Nicholas talked behind her coldly, “Isn’t this what you want?”

Nancy bit her lip. She suddenly felt like she couldn’t say any more words.

She never wanted him to meet Madelline.

That’s what Nicholas wants.

Just forget it.

She has decided. It’s no difference whether she let him go sooner or later.

“Don’t forget to close the door when you leave.”

After that, Nancy turned around and left Nicholas.

She heard the door slam shut when she got to the bathroom.

Nancy can’t bear it any longer. She vomited everything in her stomach instantly.

She doesn’t remember how long she vomited. She only remembers that her stomach was empty.

When she raised her head again, her entire face was pale.

At the midnight…

The sky was black as if splashed with ink.

When Nancy walked to the balcony, she saw Nicholas sitting in the car, so straightforward, without hesitation.

Afterward, the black car quickly disappeared into the night.

That car moved farther until it couldn’t be seen anymore.

Nancy stared in the distance for a long time until her neck felt sore.

The night wind was freezing, and it made Nancy feel chilly.

She went back to the room when she felt her body almost stiff.

After turning off the light, Nancy quickly wrapped herself in the blanket.

She thinks her heart will also warm if her body is warm.

Suddenly, her phone rang.

It was Madelline calling.

“Hey, you just called me. What happened to Nicholas?” Madelline asked anxiously.

Nancy opened her mouth and was just about to answer.

Suddenly, someone was ringing the door.

The next moment, she heard Madelline’s voice, “Nicholas, you… why are you here?”

Nancy’s phone suddenly slipped from her hand.

He went to Madelline’s house.

He meets her anyway.

Initially, Nancy still has a little hope for Nicholas.

She told herself that Lynn had already brought the medicine. Nicholas would be fine after drinking the antidote, so he might not go to meet Madelline.

But now, her last little hope was gone.

Nancy can’t sleep until four or five in the morning. She was asleep when she couldn’t bear her sleepiness.

When she woke up in the morning, it was already ten o’clock.

Jacob’s birthday has passed, and today is when she and Nicholas agreed to tell Jacob about their divorce.

However, she has yet to receive a call from Nicholas.

After washing up, Nancy called Nicholas.

However, no one picked up.

She didn’t give up and kept calling Nicholas.

Now that she has decided to divorce, she doesn’t want to postpone again.

Nicholas didn’t love her. So, she doesn’t want to beg for his mercy.

It’s better to leave.

Maybe she can forget all this and start a new life.

She has spent ten years, such an enough time on him..

No matter how much someone’s love, there will be a day when it will be exhausted.

At the office.

Nicholas’ phone keeps ringing.

Lynn frowned and looked at his phone, “Mr. Sallow, are you not going to pick it up?”

Nancy didn’t answer.

He stood with his hands behind his back, staring coldly out the window with his deep eyes,

without saying a word.

He knew why Nancy had called him.

He had been looking forward to this moment for two years.

But he never thought that when this moment came, he wouldn’t feel enthusiastic at all.

The phone on the table kept ringing. Nicholas stretched out his hand and felt confused.

Since when was Nancy so stubborn? She kept calling even though Nicholas didn’t answer.

In the end, Nicholas told Lynn to answer the phone.

“Hi, Nicholas. I’m ready. When will you come back?”

“Mrs. Sallow, I’m Lynn.”

Nancy frowned and asked, “Where is Nicholas? I’m looking for him.”

“Mr. Sallow…” Lynn glanced at Nicholas and said, “Mr. Sallow is in a meeting. Is there anything you need? I can pass it to Mr. Sallow.”

“Well, please tell him that today is the day we agreed to tell Grandpa about our divorce. I’ll wait for him at home.”

“Mrs. Sallow, why don’t you take it slowly? Mr. Sallow has been very busy these two days and may need more time to go home. He will contact you as soon as he is free.”

“Hm …..

Nancy wanted to speak again, but Lynn had hung up the phone.

When she went downstairs, Jacob was drinking tea in the living room. Nancy immediately walked over with a smile.

Jacob was delighted to see her. But when he looked back, his face immediately darkened, “Nancy. where is Nicholas? Didn’t you both come down together?”

“Ah…” Fortunately, Nancy responded quickly and immediately explained, “Nicholas went to the company early in the morning. Grandpa, you also knew he always has a regular schedule and. never sleeps in.”

This explanation is understandable, so Jacob believed it easily.

“Well, you can have breakfast quickly. After breakfast, I want to tell you something.”

“Okay, Grandpa”

The breakfast was so sumptuous. Almost all of her favorite dishes were there.

However, she had no appetite at all.

But Nancy resisted and ate a lot when she thought about the baby in her womb.

After eating, Nancy knew that Jacob was sunbathing on the balcony. Nancy passed by immediately.

“Nancy, please sit down.”

“Okay, Grandpa.”

Nancy sat down with a bright smile. When she was with Jacob, she always showed her happiest side to him.

No matter what happens between her and Nicholas, Jacob is her grandfather for the rest of her life.

Jacob is not in good health now. She doesn’t want him to worry about her.

Jacob took a sip of tea, thought for a long time, and said, “Nancy, tell me the truth. Did Nicholas treat you badly?”

“No, Grandpa. Where did you hear that? Nicholas had always been very kind to me.”

Nancy also deliberately showed the bracelet in her hand and the necklace around her neck to Jacob, “Grandpa, you see, he bought these for me. I am a little reluctant to buy them, but he insisted on buying them for me.”

Nancy’s heart suddenly ached when she thought of the earrings on Madelline’s ear.

But soon, she covered her sadness up quietly.

She still had a gentle and bright smile when she raised her head.

Jacob couldn’t bear it anymore and grabbed her hand distressedly, “Nancy, I’m old, not dumb. I know all the st* pid things Nicholas did.”

“Is Madelline back? Why didn’t you tell me about such an important matter?”
