Chapter 29 High Fidelity
Oswald was stunned to hear what I asked.
I smiled playfully, “That’s our savings! And I’m telling you, you must get it back as soon as possible. When I settle on the house I like, I won’t hesitate to buy it. Especially after Joy was injured from the fall, I knew I must rush my decision and find her a good kindergarten, like the Rising Talents School.”
Oswald kept quiet all the time, so I feigned heartlessness. “Say something! Why are you so indifferent?”
Osivald gave me an awkward smile. “I’m not. I know what I’m doing. Don’t worry! Didn’t I tell you there was a project that many people vied for? To get it, I used our savings. When the company’s business thrives, you won’t have a problem finding a good house! You have my word! Just take your mind off it now!”
He smiled brightly and gently pinched my nose, but I knew his smile wasn’t genuine.
During the meal, we each had an agenda. That money drove me to distraction. I had to find its whereabouts and get it back before Oswald told me his project went south.
Returning to the office, I called Eleanor and sent her the photo that Orlando had taken. I knew Oswald wouldn’t leave his cave in the next few days.
In the afternoon, I cooped myself up in the office and perused the “special” files that Oswald prepared for me.
I had to give some credit to the woman who made Oswald determined to cheat on me.

Then Oswald went to work as usual, but Orlando frequently was out on errands.
I thought if Oswald kept his guard up against me, his mistress would be careful and lie low, but I underestimated her.
Monday morning, after Oswald and I dropped Jocelyn off at school, we went to the company together. The moment I returned to my office, my phone buzzed.
I took off my jacket, hung it up, and fished out my phone nonchalantly. There was a message notification on the screen. It was also a photo message. I tapped it, and when I saw the photos, my hands shook a little.
There were two high–infidelity photos. To be precise, they were close–ups.
In the soft light, Oswald was sleeping on the king–sized hotel bed. Under his chiseled face, there was a woman with a perfect body curve. The hickeys on her face and body were palpable and sensual.
They were having the same posture in the other photo, but the photo was zoomed out. A big hand that was placed on the woman’s stomach was clear to see.
It was a selfie that cropped out the two people’s heads and feet. Except for the S**uality, nothing could be identified.
The world was spinning in front of my eyes. I slumped into the chair, covered my chest, and breathed heavily. I felt knife and bleeding like a geyser.

Although I was ment*lly prepared for this moment; although I knew what betrayal felt like, I was still shocked when I saw the photos. The harrowing scenarios that I had been envisioning in my head were nothing compared to the visual impact that these two photos brought me. Then I was utterly flabbergasted..
I quickly found the number that sent me the message, but I didn’t
