Chapter 33 Surprise visit
Orlando showed up on time.
The minute he entered the room, he shouted, “Where the hell is everyone?”
Before his voice trailed off, he–froze and gaped at me who was sitting on the couch leisurely.
I cracked a smile. “Mr. Richardson!”
After a while, he closed his mouth and stammered, “Mrs… Mrs. Price!”
“What? Are you surprised to see me?” I was still wearing a smile. “Come, take a seat! I let the other workers go home!”
“Ah… well, I, I need to make a call first and tell… the foreman to count their working hours!” When Orlando finished talking, he scurried toward the door.
“Orlando! What’s the rush?” I asked slowly. My grave and intimidating voice echoed in the spacious room.
Orlando stopped, looking back at me, flustered. His lips were twitching, and his face turned pale.
“I think you’d better take my advice and take a seat! I came here specifically to speak to you! So, I sent those people away!” I looked at Orlando calmly, whose forehead was covered in cold sweat. “What? I can’t call the shots now?”
My voice was filled with sarcasm. Back when Orlando saw me, he would wag his tail, run to me, and call me “Cassie” fondly.

Orlando wiped his pallid face and wended his way back with a wry smile. Every step he took sounded heavy.
“Ca… Cassic! Yes, you can! I won’t forget how you helped me! I’m grateful for it! I won’t go this far without you!” Orlando smiled bitterly and gingerly approached the couch.
I raised my chin, signaling him to sit.
“I’ll… just stand! Cassie, I… I didn’t know you would come here! Haha!” Orlando explained guiltily.
“Oh?” I shot a fierce stare at him. “Do you think I can’t come here?”
I craned my neck, pretended to be admired, and looked around, “Lovely house! I like it!”
Orlando knitted his brows and clenched his fists. “Yes… it’s lovely! I’m glad that you like it!”
“Sadly, it’s not for me!” I fixed my eyes on him again. “Will you do me thè honor and tell me… who Mr. Price planned to give this house to?”
Orlando swallowed. “What… are you talking about, Cassie? There’s no one else Mr. Price would give this house to except for you!”
“Is that so?” I answered carelessly while playing on my phone. “Mr. Price always likes to surprise me!”
I sneered. When I made this brag, my face blushed with shame.
“Of course… you also did a wonderful job keeping this secret from me!” My tone was harsh.
Orlando’s face twitched. He smiled awkwardly and said, “Thanks! Oh… no… I didn’t mean that…”
“Orlando, you have worked for Prosper Materials for years! Look what

you’ve achieved! I still remember how we chased our dreams on the streets, and we sat on the curb and ate bread and pickled cucumber at noon… How times have changed!” I said indifferently. “Come to think of it, I’m not as generous and kind as Mr. Price! He taught you both legal and illegal ways to earn extra cash! He’s the one who should be loved by everyone!”
“Cassie… don’t say that, I.:.” Orlando was sweating bullets.
“Oh, right. I haven’t seen your wife for ages. How is she? I must pay her a visit someday!” I changed the subject suddenly. My voice was relaxed. “I’m such a fool. I lost touch with so many friends! It’s all my fault!”
“She’s great, Cassie! She’s also pregnant!” Orlando wiped away the sweat on his face, his lips curling. “Thank you for caring for us, Cassie!”
“What? Pregnant? That’s wonderful. You’re going to be a father!” I feigned surprise. “How old is the baby?”
“Six months,” Orlando smiled reluctantly.
“Oh, good to know!” I nodded. “Then… you must cherish her!”
I smiled at Orlando and said mischievously.
Orlando was startled when he met my eyes. “Cassie…”
I looked away and chose to cut to the chase. “Who is Oswald’s mistress?”
Orlando was bemused by my question. He sprung up from the couch and said, “I don’t know, Cassie!”
“You don’t know?” I stretched out every word I said. If looks could kill, Orlando would be dead by now.
“I…”
“Who’s the woman?” I interrogated him.
