Chapter 6
At the tender sensation beneath his eyes, Christopher stiffened. After realizing what was happening, he pushed Cecilia away and said affectionately, “Don’t make a scene. I will take you to rest.”
The drunken Cecilia was full of rebellion. Despite Christopher telling her not to make trouble, she insisted on doing so.
Since she couldn’t kiss that mole, she decided to kiss his lips that rejected her.
As Christopher leaned back, she pushed him onto the couch.
Through the thin fabric of their clothes, their bodies clung to one another.
One was warm as fire, and the other was cold as ice.
Cecilia, who was feeling hot inside, felt very comfortable lying on Christopher. She wrapped herself around him like an octopus to absorb the coolness from his body.
Watching Cecilia rubbing against him, Christopher took a deep breath to suppress the restlessness within him.
“Cecilia, don’t move!”
He was a man. If this continued, things might get out of hand.
Stubborn, Cecilia kept on moving.
Eventually, she found something hard nudging against her. In her displeasure, she got up and slapped Christopher angrily. “Go away!”
The slap was so hard that Christopher hissed, and his face darkened immediately.
“I must teach this restless girl a lesson today!” he thought.
He clasped Cecilia’s hands, and just when he was about to kiss

her lips, she passed out and crashed into him limply. Christopher was stumped for words.
He couldn’t help but smile wryly before pinching Cecilia’s nose helplessly and dotingly.
“You heartless girl, falling asleep right after flirting with me. What am I supposed to do now?”
Obviously, there was nothing he could do aside from calming himself down and taking good care of the young lady who passed out drunk.
Getting up cautiously, he carried Cecilia to the best business suite in Skyhaven Club.
Meanwhile, William had been sent to the nearest hospital to Skyhaven Club by Anthony.
His arm was broken, with fractured bones piercing through his skin and blood staining his clothes red.
Although he was seriously injured, he would be able to recover with proper rest.
Before entering the operating room, he asked the doctor to take a photo of him in this miserable state and send it to Juliana.
“Julia, this is William. When I get out of the operating room, I’ll go to you and explain everything.”
He could not lose Juliana, or he would never be able to compete with Christopher.
He was determined to make Christopher pay a hundredfold for what he suffered today.
As the light in the operating room lit up, Juliana received the message and photo from William.
She had been waiting for William to come and apologize, but he didn’t show up, leaving her unable to sleep from anger.

Worried that Juliana would get sick from being too distressed, Sophia said with concern, “Julia, if you don’t want to marry William, I will cancel your engagement tomorrow.”
However, Juliana never considered breaking off the engagement although she was furious about his betrayal.
She had to marry into the Forte family since they were the richest family in Quilton.
There were only two unmarried men in the Forte
family–Christopher, the much older illegitimate child, and his nephew William.
William was greatly favored by Fabian. As long as the Yancey family supported him, William would take over Forte Group in the future, and she would be the richest man’s wife.
At that thought, Juliana sat up and said, “Mom, I like William. As long as he’s willing to change, I will forgive him this time.”
After saying that, she unlocked her phone to check her
messages.
Upon seeing the tragic photo of William, she exclaimed in shock and dropped her phone onto the hospital bed.
Sophia immediately picked up her phone. When she saw the photos, her expression also turned grim.
“How did William get so badly injured? Give him a call now,” she urged.
“O–Okay!”
Juliana hurriedly removed William’s number from her blacklist and dialed it.
However, his phone was turned off.
She then called the unknown number that had messaged her,

The mother–daughter duo became extremely anxious, so they told Gordon and the four brothers about the situation.
The response they got from the five men was to wait.
Since William had said he would come to see Juliana, they decided to wait for him.
And so, they waited for three hours.
At one o’clock in the morning, William was transferred to the hospital where Juliana was located, and his ward was right next to hers.
Sophia had already fallen asleep in the waiting room, while Juliana was still wide awake from rage.
When she saw William come in, she picked up a pillow and threw it at him.
William purposefully didn’t dodge. As the pillow hit his injured arm, his face turned white from the pain.
Juliana glanced at the man trying to appease her and coldly snorted, “Serves you right!”
William rushed forward to explain, “Julia, you have to believe me. I have never betrayed you. Someone set me up after I got drunk. It was Uncle Christopher’s woman. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the people who went to Skyhaven Club tonight.”
He added, “Uncle Christopher is mean and insidious; he wants to destroy our marriage to secure his position. Don’t be deceived by him. That woman set me up to break the rules of Skyhaven Club, and Uncle Christopher seized on it and broke my arm!”
After hearing the explanation, Juliana thought, “William is too useless. He’s completely suppressed by Christopher! If it weren’t for the fact that Christopher is old, ugly, and ruthless, I’d never choose William as my husband!”

Seeing that Juliana didn’t believe him, William whipped out his phone and showed Juliana the photo of Cecilia that he had
taken secretly.
“This is the woman. She even claimed that her last name is Yancey. She’s clearly trying to disgust me.”
The bar was dimly lit, and the photo was not very clear, but Juliana recognized the woman at a glance.
She had seen Cecilia with her hair combed up before.
At that time, she had been astonished at first sight and felt threatened. So, she made Sophia tell Cecilia to let her hair down and cover her eyes with bangs, turning Cecilia into a country bumpkin in an instant.
Unexpectedly, Cecilia returned to her former dazzling appearance after leaving the Yancey family.
Juliana clenched the phone and asked William, “Are you sure this woman is your uncle’s girlfriend?”
“I am sure she is. He even gave her the diamond card of Skyhaven Club.”
His words filled Juliana with jealousy and hatred.
She thought, “Cecilia actually hooked up with the richest man in Quilton? If both of us marry into the Forte family at the same time, doesn’t that mean I’ll have to address her with respect? No, I can’t let that happen!”
She proceeded to tap on the phone screen and ask, “William, do you know who this woman is?”
William shook his head.
“She is Cecilia Yancey!”
William was flabbergasted.
“How could this beauty be a country bumpkin?” he wondered.
As he recalled Cecilia’s face, his expression turned uglier.

“So, it really is her. No wonder she kept targeting me and scheming against me!”
Soon, Juliana calmed down. “William, don’t be mad. Cecilia is just an idiot, so it’s easy to deal with her. We can do this…”
After she finished speaking, William became very excited. “Julia, you are truly my lucky star. As long as the plan succeeds, Cecilia will be at my disposal to help me deal with Uncle Christopher.”
Juliana arched her brow proudly. “Don’t let me down, William. Otherwise, you will be in worse shape than Cecilia!”
“Don’t worry. I swear by my name that I will only love you for the rest of my life.”
After promising that, William sent the photo he secretly took of Cecilia to Juliana.
“Julia, have a good rest. I’ll wait for your call.”
Cecilia woke up from thirst.
When she lifted her heavy eyelids, a magnified handsome face leaped into her eyes.
Startled, she retreated abruptly.
Just as she was about to fall off the bed, Christopher’s strong arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her back into place, but she swiftly and effortlessly restrained his hand behind his back.
“Tell me. How did I end up here? What did you do to me?”
If it weren’t for the fact that she still had her clothes on and didn’t feel anything strange on her body, she would have killed this man.
Despite being suppressed, Christopher responded with a smile, “Ms. Yancey, have you forgotten about everything last night?”
“Last night?” she wondered.

Cecilia only remembered entering Sebastian’s office and nothing after that.
“Can’t you remember? Do you want me to help you out?”
Cecilia stared at Christopher. Looking at the blood–red mole at the corner of his eye, an image flashed in her mind.
“Oh my! I got drunk and went wild. I even kissed this man’s mole,” she exclaimed inwardly.
As the memories flooded into her mind, she recalled
everything.
Feeling guilty, Cecilia immediately let go of Christopher and got out of bed.
“I’m sorry, Mr. Christopher Forte. I was drunk last night. It wasn’t intentional.”
She was truly embarrassed.
Not only did she pin the richest man in Quilton to the couch and paw him, but she also slapped him.
She even clung to him like an octopus and insisted on sleeping together.
“I didn’t lose out either, so there’s no need to feel sorry,” Christopher said as he looked at Cecilia, who was furiously blushing out of humiliation.
He added, “It’s still early. You should sleep more. I’ll be leaving now.”
Cecilia quickly stopped Christopher. “Wait. Mr. Christopher Forte, why did you give me the diamond card?”
“Because I wanted to.”
With that, Christopher left.
Cecilia was utterly confused; she couldn’t figure out what he

Her head throbbed from her hangover, so she found it difficult
to concentrate.
Cecilia decided to stop thinking. After drinking some water, she returned to bed to sleep.
However, a faint woody scent filled her nose. It was
Christopher’s scent.
The scent was like a large net, firmly capturing her. No matter where she went, it followed her like a shadow.
Even when she moved to the couch, it was futile because the woody scent had clung to her.
In the end, Cecilia gave up on sleeping. She went to take a shower and washed her clothes.
Wearing a white bathrobe, she sat on the couch and posted high–definition photos of William flirting with the women with the help of several media outlets.
These media outlets had helped Juliana smear her in the past, and now, she was making use of them.
When the day broke, the photos had already gone viral on the internet.
Juliana’s official Twitter account was flooded with tweets tagging her, asking for her response.
She immediately turned off the replies and private messaging on her official Twitter account.
Then, she began sobbing when the Yancey family came to pick her up from the hospital.
Gordon said in distress, “Julia, don’t cry. Now that things have escalated, why don’t we just break off the engagement?”
Although William was a member of the Forte family, he didn’t have many shares in the Forte Group. He had no real power

and was not wealthy. Therefore, Gordon felt that he didn’t deserve his precious daughter at all.
Crying uncontrollably, Juliana choked out, “Dad, the photos are fake. William has been set up. I’m sure she didn’t do it on purpose. She must have been used by Christopher.”
“Who set him up? Why won’t he clear himself if that’s the case?”
Juliana deliberately hid her phone under the pillow and said in a covert manner, “No… No one set him up.”
Gordon snatched the phone and handed it to Juliana. “Unlock it.”
Juliana shook her head. “Dad, I can’t, and I can’t clarify either. William and I are willing to just accept this quietly.”
Without a word, Gordon grabbed Juliana’s finger and pressed it onto the fingerprint sensor.
The moment the phone was unlocked, a blurry photo appeared before his eyes.
It took him a while to recognize Cecilia in the photo.
Then, he noticed the background of the photo was the same as the one in William’s photos.
Instantly, he grew agitated and furious. “Cecilia caused William’s scandal?”
Although it was a question, his tone was affirmative.
Juliana grabbed her phone back and deleted the photo, even defending Cecilia.
“Dad, don’t be angry with Ceci. I stole her life, so it’s right for her to hate me. I won’t blame her.”
Hearing this, Sophia held Juliana in her arms.
“You silly girl, what are you talking about? It’s not your fault that you were swapped. You don’t have to blame yourself. Cecilia has hurt you several times and embarrassed the Yancey

She continued, “Julia, this time, I won’t allow her to hurt you again and make you suffer anymore!”
Turning to Gordon, she said angrily, “Gordon, call Cecilia and tell her to come back to the Yancey residence immediately.” She thought, “Doesn’t she want to leave the Yancey family? Then I’ll let her have her way! From now on, Juliana will be the only daughter of the Yancey family. I’ll take it as I never gave birth to Cecilia!”
Gordon was also completely disappointed with Cecilia.
Without any hesitation, he took out his phone and called her. When Cecilia received the call, she had just returned to her apartment near Quilton University.
She already guessed why Gordon was calling her, so she didn’t answer right away.
Instead, she waited until the phone rang for the third time, completely infuriating Gordon before picking up the call.
The next second, an angry roar with a commanding tone came into her ears.
“Cecilia, come back to the Yancey residence now. We’ll talk about disowning you!”
Gordon hung up the phone in rage after that.
Upon hearing this, Cecilia knew that she could finally sever ties with the Yancey family.
Feeling unprecedentedly relieved, she began to dress up.
